CE3 BUSINESS & OPERATIONS ASSISTANT  APPLICATION:

This job is designed to provide students an opportunity to enhance their leadership skills by assisting the Center of Equity and Excellence (CE3) by serving on the CE3 Administration Team. The CE3 Business & Operations Assistant plays a vital role in supporting key business, programmatic, and financial processes for all units in CE3- including the Berkeley Hope Scholars, Cal Veterans Services Center, Educational Opportunity Program, Re-Entry Student Program, Student Parent Center, Transfer Student Center, and Undocumented Student Program, and our two initiatives: the Underground Scholars Initiative and the UC Berkeley Food Pantry. By working closely with CE3 admin staff, directors, vendors, and campus partners, this assistant will take part in ensuring that key processes and business operations of our programs are effective in serving our student populations. This assistant should possess personal qualities that will effectively aid CE3’s mission of providing non-traditional and culturally diverse students with programs and services that encourages them to excel towards graduation. These qualities include but are not limited to professionalism, commitment, flexibility to perform in fast-paced work environment, and strong communication skills.

All current UC Berkeley students who meet the preferred qualifications are eligible to apply, with preference given to sophomores and juniors. Students will need to successfully complete the application and interview process to fill this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

      Minimum 3.0 GPA

      Must be available to work 10-15 hours per week, M-F 9am-5pm 

•    Work study eligible

•    Personal computer required for majority of administrative tasks  

•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•    Proficient with office-related software, including word processing, email, spreadsheets, databases, scheduling, and web-based systems

•    Demonstrate experience working with diverse student populations served by the cluster        

Job  Responsibilities:

      Familiarity with CE3 programs and ability to provide general information about all CE3 services

      Update monthly financial ledgers for CE3 units

    Complete requests, payments, and reimbursements on BearBuy and Berkeley Financial Systems

•    Support with coordination of events and cluster activities

•    Monitor and assist with maintenance of cluster websites

•    Serve on ongoing CE3 working groups and other duties as assigned

Training:  

  •    Shadow current staff and complete trainings throughout summer

       •    Prospective Start Date: Mid to late summer
