Each year, the Student Support Services (SSS) Program empowers more than 320 low-income and first-generation students to achieve academic excellence.  This is done through a holistic advising approach.

Throughout their time at Berkeley, SSS Scholars receive academic assessment and advising; guidance as they establish their individual study plans, select their courses and create academic achievement plans; tutoring and mentoring; regular one-on-one check-ins; and take part in an optional weekly credit-bearing course.  Academics is not the only focus.  Students also have access to personal counseling, financial literacy courses, graduate school preparation, and career services.
