What are the advantages of joining TTP and beginning my UC Berkeley career in summer?
By joining TTP, you will get a jump start on and facilitate your transition to UC Berkeley. You will learn how UC Berkeley is structured and organized so you will be well-positioned to pursue your intellectual interests, achieve academic success, work with faculty, and engage in research. Additionally, you will meet other transfer students with whom you will form friendships and study partnerships.
Are the courses offered in TTP actual UC Berkeley courses?
Yes, the courses we offer in TTP are UC Berkeley courses. The 6-week courses are typically taught over the course of a semester. The grades you receive will appear on your official transcript.
Can I receive financial aid for TTP?
Enrolling in 6-units allows students eligible for Financial Aid to pay for TTP. Remember that to be eligible for a summer aid package, you must submit both your 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 FAFSAs. Academic counselors are available to discuss your questions about Financial Aid. See Financial Aid section for more details.
Is housing available for TTP students?
The TTP program is non-residential; housing is not provided. If students are interested in living near campus while attending TTP, they are welcome to look for local housing. A list of resources is available via [link]
Will I receive academic support during TTP?
TTP staff is invested in your success. The ES 194 instructor has extended hours to meet individually with students to address their specific questions and provide focused instruction and support. Additionally, course instructors and GSIs have office hours to meet with you.
Will I receive academic counseling during TTP?
Yes, you will work with an Academic Counselor who will facilitate your transition to UC Berkeley. The Counselor will help you develop an individualized academic plan, provide guidance on course selection, help manage your financial aid, and identify enrichment, research and career opportunities.
Is parking available on campus?
Parking near campus can be challenging, but there are numerous parking options available around campus. See [link]
