TTP FAQs

What are the advantages of joining TTP and beginning my UC Berkeley career in summer?

By joining TTP, you will get a jump start on and facilitate your transition to UC Berkeley.  You will learn how UC Berkeley is structured and organized so you will be well-positioned to pursue your intellectual interests, achieve academic success, work with faculty, and engage in research.  Additionally, you will meet other transfer students with whom you will form friendships and study partnerships.

Are the courses offered in TTP actual UC Berkeley courses?

Yes, the courses we offer in TTP are UC Berkeley courses, taught during the second 6-week Summer Session (July 2 – August 10, 2018.) The 6-week courses are typically taught over the course of a semester. The grades you receive will appear on your official transcript.

Can I receive financial aid for TTP?

Enrolling in 6-units allows students eligible for Financial Aid to pay for TTP.  Remember that to be eligible for a summer aid package, you must submit both your 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 FAFSAs. Academic counselors are available to discuss your questions about Financial Aid.  See Financial Aid section for more details.

Is housing available for TTP students?

The TTP program is non-residential; housing is not provided. If you are interested in living near campus while attending TTP, you are welcome to look for local housing.

Will I receive academic support during TTP?

TTP staff is invested in your success. The ES 194 instructor will have extended hours to meet individually with students to address their specific questions and provide focused instruction and support. Additionally, course instructors and GSIs will offer office hours to meet with you.
