UC Berkeley Mailing Services is the hub for distribution of all incoming mail, both interdepartmental and deliveries routed through the U.S. Postal Service.  USPS mail is sorted and delivered based on class and delivery address.

  • Contact your department Financial Analyst for a Speedtype
  • The speedtype is a code that is connected to the chartstring that will be charged for shipping fees
  • Gather all appropriate documents such as purchase request form and a spreadsheet that contains complete name, email, phone number, and addresses of recipients 
  • Check FedEx website for box size and estimate of cost for package delivery
  • Submit request to the admin team

  • Verifies that purchase order and all information required is complete and accurate
  • Creates an order and selects the box size requested to be delivered to the sender

  • Confirms when packages have arrived and communicates to the admin team when they would like to ship

  • Creates and sends shipping labels to sender via email
  • If more than 10 packages, please allow the admin team a turnaround of 3-5 business days
